Hello friends-
It’s been a while and I’ve been so busy I haven’t even had time to write since...July!
This will be short and sweet. Lot’s is happening, as usual.
Here’s the latest...

ENDINGS AND NEW BEGINNINGS

Since my last newsletter:
1. I had such an amazing summer with Larisa Stow and Shakti Tribe. I traveled all over California and Arizona with them and had a blast singing, playing hangs and percussion for thousands of excited fans.
It was amazing to connect with so many appreciative people at our shows. I’m so excited for what the Shakti Tribe is continuing to do with music and I look forward to their continued success. I decided to continue with my solo career and…

2. I was in the studio in September and recorded an entire new Hang music CD!
My new Hang only music CD! I am just putting the finishing touches on it so stay tuned for a new album scheduled to come out in 2011. Stay tuned!

3. I have had several really fun shows over the past couple of months.
In September, I played at AGAPE International Spiritual Center for the 3rd time this year and also was on the TV show, “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento”, which is the Spanish version of America’s Got Talent. Check my video page to see that!

4. I’ve been working hard, growing We Heal University, my Reiki Mastery school. I am scheduled to make 10 students Reiki Masters for the 2010 year! See below for more information on my next Reiki course!

5. I performed at the Ford Anson Theatre in Hollywood, where I got to play my Hangs in front of 1,000 people while amazing hip hop dancers freestyle danced to my music. It was a privilege and honor to perform at this unique outdoor theatre, which is a prestigious cultural landmark.

GILT

Gilt.com is a really cool website I just found out about. If you want to get super-high-end clothes for an extreme discount (~50%-70%), this is the site.
Each day at 8:50am, they email you a list of that day's sales on their website. At 9am, the sales open up. (Note: These are very high-end clothes, so if you've never spent $100 on a jacket or shirt, this probably isn't for you.)
You can go days, weeks, or even months without buying anything. But then you'll see that ONE thing you want, realize it's a ridiculously discounted price, and snatch it up.

There are only 2 catches:

* They sell out in minutes
* You have to get invited to join Gilt

Listen, you know and I know those prices are ridiculous. Fortunately, I didn't pay anything near sticker price.
Examples? Here are some recent brands that I saw on Gilt:

· Women's: Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, Michael Kors (shoes, shirts, dresses, pants, skirts...)
· * Men's: John Varvatos, Ted Baker, Paul Smith, Marc Jacobs (coats, sweaters, shoes, sunglasses, dress shirts, suits, pants...)

Btw, if you don't know any of those names, who cares. I didn't know any of those brands when I joined, either.
Now, let me show you some insider tactics for maximizing your Gilt account.

How to get the right size: It's online so you won't know the exact size you need, especially since you presumably haven't ordered a $1200 jacket before. Here's how to get around it. In photography, there's a term called "bracketing" which means taking the same shot using multiple exposures. I use the same thing with Gilt -- I just buy multiple sizes, then return the one that doesn't fit (free return shipping). Gilt says you have some ridiculously short return period, but that hasn't been my experience. You can ship it back after you get it and try it on, and you'll get refunded. The only issue is if you can't put that much on your credit card...don't be dumb and do this.

How to get your item until it sells out: Stuff sells out in seconds. I'm not kidding. If you see something you REALLY love, quickly add it to your cart, which will give you 10 minutes before anyone else can buy it. Also, since they have multiple sales, I use multiple tabs to rapidly browse through items.

How to not become addicted to this thing: Gilt is engineered to get you to spend money using very sophisticated techniques including social proof, time-limited promotions, and surprise (novelty). Be aware of this.

Who this is NOT for:
Don't sign up if you are in credit card debt
Don't sign up if you've never spent $100+ on a piece of clothing.
Don't sign up if you have OTHER priorities -- like travel or buying a home.

Who this IS for:
People who want high-end clothes at steep discounts
People who are in no rush to buy something, but are willing to wait for the perfect piece
People who are not going to whine to me that the clothes are too expensive.
Dude, they're high-end clothes. This isn't Old Navy!

Oh yeah, one more thing...Going from "steep discounts" --> free
The steep discounts are still expensive: Paying $150 for a $400 shirt still makes me curse the marketing and pricing peeps in the fashion industry.

Here is the additional wrinkle:

When you refer someone and they make their first purchase, you'll get a $25 credit (like I will get if you buy something on Gilt). If you like high-end clothes, chances are your friends do, too, and since they can't get into Gilt, you can get them in.
I know that Gilt converts like CRAZY. All that means is that if you refer a few people, chances are you can get that new coat, or dress, or shirt -- free.
That's going from steep discount --> free.

NOTE: This is really important so I want to take 60 seconds to talk about referring people the right way instead of being a moron.

Q: Why don't you consider this some Amway thing?
A: Because you're only sending it to people who WANT and can USE it, and there are no downline incentives that typically characterize network-marketing. This is a high-quality referral.

Q: Who should I refer?
A: Don't just refer people on your Facebook. Ask people who want a referral, and only refer the people who say OK. Your conversions will go way higher and you won't annoy people. In general, everyone wants access to a super high-end thing at STEEP discounts, especially since you can get them in. So, this is a win-win for everybody.
Ok, that covers Gilt and how you can get steeply discounted -- and even free -- super-high-end clothes.
